Akame Shijuhachitaki, located within Muro-Akame Aoyama Quasi-National Park in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, is a beautiful valley lined with numerous waterfalls. True to its name, the approximately 4km stretch of waterfalls, large and small, each offers a unique and captivating sight. Well-maintained walking trails allow visitors to enjoy the tranquil murmur of the streams and the breathtaking scenery of the waterfalls interwoven with the lush natural surroundings up close. The scenery is particularly beautiful during the season of fresh greenery and the fiery autumn foliage, attracting many tourists.

Akame Shijuhachitaki is said to have once been a training ground for Iga-ryu ninjas. The rugged terrain of the valley and the sound of the waterfalls served as a hiding place for ninjas, making it a place where they devoted themselves to their training. Additionally, the Ninja Forest near Akame Falls offers ninja experiences, including throwing shuriken and learning the art of water spiders. Children and adults alike can enjoy a workout while learning about ninja history.

The waterfall's clear, delicious taste has led to it being selected as one of Japan's 100 famous waters.
