This 60m waterfall was named after its unusual shape, resembling a monkey's tail. It has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls and is a healing power spot where you can enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons, from fresh greenery and autumn leaves to frozen waterfalls in winter.
Located in Kami Town, Mikata District, Hyogo Prefecture, Saruobi Falls is a beautiful two-tiered waterfall that has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls. The upper, "Otokotaki" waterfall is characterized by its dynamic flow, plunging powerfully from a height of approximately 39 meters. Meanwhile, the lower, "Metaki" waterfall is characterized by its graceful, gentle flow, cascading from a height of approximately 21 meters. The two waterfalls, named "Saruobi Falls," are named for their resemblance to a monkey's tail. It is also a popular power spot.

Sarubi Falls is surrounded by lush nature and features a well-maintained walking trail. Visitors can get close to the falls, experiencing the sound of the water and the splashing spray. In particular, the vibrant green of the fresh greenery fills the air, while in autumn, the fiery autumn leaves blend seamlessly with the falls, creating a spectacular sight. In winter, the falls freeze over, creating a mystical icefall, showcasing a variety of different landscapes with each season.

Saruobi Falls is a place where you can experience the power and mysticism of nature. The negative ions emitted from the waterfall are said to have a relaxing effect, refreshing both body and mind. The surrounding area, Saruo Falls Park, features a plaza and rest area, making it a great place to relax.

It's about a three-minute walk from the parking lot.

[Useful Tips]
While the walking trail is well-maintained, there are some uneven or slippery sections, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. In winter, there is a risk of snow and ice, so please check road conditions in advance.
