The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove Path is a famous bamboo forest path in Arashiyama that is often featured in TV commercials and the media. With tall bamboos that cover the sky, creating a fantastical sight, it is a popular tourist spot perfect for taking photos.
Located in Sagano, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, the Bamboo Forest Path is one of Arashiyama's most scenic spots. The approximately 400-meter path leading from Nonomiya Shrine to Okochi Sanso is lined with beautiful bamboo groves stretching high into the sky on both sides. The sound of the bamboo leaves rustling in the breeze is soothing, and you're enveloped in a mystical atmosphere, as if you've wandered into another world.

The bamboo forest path offers beautiful views all year round, but early morning and dusk are especially quiet and mystical, with fewer people around. In winter, the Arashiyama Hanatoro event is held, during which the bamboo forest is lit up, creating a mystical view that is different from the daytime.

There is no parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot.
