This temple was founded in 1029 and is located in the mountains of Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City. It is a popular ancient temple known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, and offers beautiful scenery throughout the seasons and a spectacular view of Kyoto city.
Located on Nishiyama in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City, Yoshimine-dera Temple is a historic temple founded by the monk Gensan in 1029. As the 20th temple of the Thirty-three Kannon Temples of the Western Provinces, Yoshimine-dera attracts many pilgrims. The temple grounds encompass the entire mountain, offering beautiful scenery throughout the seasons. The cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn foliage are particularly well-known as some of Kyoto's most spectacular views.

The vast temple grounds are dotted with numerous buildings, allowing for a leisurely stroll. Located on the mountainside at an altitude of 300 meters, the temple offers numerous vantage points overlooking Kyoto city. The observation deck next to Kyodo Hall offers particularly panoramic views of Mount Hiei, downtown Kyoto, and even the skyscrapers of Osaka in the distance.

The temple also boasts many other attractions, including the "Swinging Dragon Pine," a designated natural monument, and the strolling garden, the "Ao Momiji Garden." The multi-story tower is designated as an Important Cultural Property.
