Located in Sairyuji, Higashi-ku, Okayama City, this historic orchard dates back to 1850. Reservations are required for this tourist farm where you can experience grape picking in July, pear picking in September, and persimmon picking in October. At the direct sales store, you can taste the richly sweet fruits that have been grown using lactic acid bacteria with reduced pesticide use for over 40 years.
Ishihara Orchard was founded around 170 years ago and cultivates over 20 varieties of grapes, Atago pears, and Yari pears, using soil improved with lactic acid bacteria cultivation. Grape picking (Shine Muscat, New Pione, etc.) is available from mid-July to late October, pear picking (Atago pears, Yari pears) from early September to early November, and persimmon picking (Taiaki persimmons) from early October to early November are available by reservation only. Tasting is included during the harvest, and the fruit you pick can be purchased or shipped nationwide.
