This long beach stretches for 1.6km, with white sand and cobalt blue water. The contrast between the sand, formed by the granite of Ashizuri, and the pine forest is beautiful, making it a popular surfing spot.
Ogi Coast is known for its stunning views of the gently curving white sand coastline and the lush greenery behind it. The sand is rich in crushed shells and coral, creating a landscape befitting the gateway to Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park. It's also a popular year-round surfing spot.
The beach is not recommended for swimming.
The facility offers flush toilets, heated showers (100 yen per use), and free parking, making it a convenient base for beachside strolls and photography. The beach is accessed via a promenade through a pine forest. Known as a sandy beach where loggerhead turtles come ashore and lay their eggs, it's a place where you can enjoy quiet and respectful behavior.
Ogi Coast is located at the eastern entrance to Cape Ashizuri National Park, offering a wealth of natural beauty and beautiful scenery.
[Hidden Gem]
The "Ogi Coast Observation Parking Lot" on the north side of the coast is slightly elevated, offering a beautiful view of the entire Ogi Coast.
[Useful Concerns]
Swimming is generally not recommended, as rip currents are likely to occur and drowning accidents have been reported. Because this is not a swimming beach, there is no monitoring system. Even when playing in the water at the shoreline, please exercise discretion and prioritize safety. If you plan to swim in the ocean, please consider the city's designated swimming beach (Sakurahama).
