This mysterious beach is made up of round stones that are rubbed by the waves, making a "clack" sound. It is popular as a lucky spot, as the sound means "good things will come," and is also popular with photographers as a famous spot for watching the sunset.
Nariishi Beach is a rare natural beach with "gotaishi" stones, located along Hanami Beach in Kotoura Town. Oval-shaped stones known as gotaishi are piled up all over the beach, and as the waves ebb and flow, these stones crash into each other, creating a unique sound.

Because of the sounds of the stones, it's known as a "good sounding place, good things will happen, good things will happen," and it's said that if you write your wish on a stone and throw it into the sea, your wish will come true. Stone ema, or votive plaques, are a local specialty. It's believed that beaches that "sound" often bring good things, and many people visit as a power spot.

In clear seasons, the distant views are clear, while on calm days the sound is more subdued, and on stormy days it becomes more powerful. The beach's changing appearance with the time of day and weather is a fascinating feature. For photogenic shots, try combining sunsets and long exposures.

[Useful Notes]
