A unique aquarium where you can experience the "deep sea" of Suruga Bay. It is highly rated for its unique frozen coelacanth exhibit and VR experience, and is recommended for sightseeing on rainy days or as a stop-off for family trips.
Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium specializes in the creatures of Suruga Bay, Japan's deepest bay. The aquarium regularly displays over 100 species of deep-sea creatures, including spider crabs and giant isopods. The adjacent Coelacanth Museum offers up-close views of two frozen coelacanths and three stuffed specimens preserved at -20°C. Visitors can also learn about the "unknown ocean" through deep-sea footage and specimens. This is the only place in the world where you can see frozen specimens.

It also offers a wide variety of entertainment options. Popular attractions include the VR "Deep Cruise," where you explore underwater ruins in a submarine, and the "Deep Sea World" ride, where you "capture" deep-sea creatures with lasers (separate fees apply), offering a fun experience for children and adults alike.

Located adjacent to the port's food and souvenir zone, "Minato 83 Banchi," the aquarium offers a full day of fun, including a stroll around the area and enjoying a meal.
