This popular restaurant serves tofu dishes and sweets in an old house in the Joto Town Preservation District. Established in 1894, it offers meals and sweets made with handmade tofu made from Mimasaka soybeans, making it the perfect place to take a break from walking around town.
Hayase Tofu Shop's tofu is made using 100% Mimasaka soybeans and traditional methods. The tofu is characterized by its fine texture and rich flavor.

The shop's tofu is made from Kiyomidori green soybeans, which are said to be three times sweeter than white soybeans. It also uses Sesan nigari, a natural bittern from the Seto Inland Sea.

The shop's signature dishes include a set meal showcasing the flavor of Mimasaka soybeans, and a tasting menu featuring varieties such as zaru tofu and yose tofu. In addition to tofu-related side dishes, the shop also offers sweets such as soy milk donuts and scones, perfect for satisfying hunger while strolling around.

The lunch menu is also popular and attracts many customers.

The parking lot has space for approximately 10 cars, located about 100 meters west of the shop along Izumo Kaido. If the parking lot is full, there is a free tourist parking lot about 50 meters further down the road.
