This 100-year-old uiro shop was founded in 1923 and is a popular Ise specialty. At the main store in front of the Geku Shrine and the store in front of the Naiku Shrine, you can enjoy the chewy texture of preservative-free uiro and seasonal flavors, or buy them as souvenirs.
Founded in 1923, Toraya's main store is located in the Geku area near Iseshi Station, while the Naikumae store is located in Naiku/Oharaimachi, making it an attractive location within walking distance from your travel base. The storefront is lined with rows of uiro sticks, and you're sure to be spoiled for choice, from the classic white, black, matcha, and red bean paste flavors to limited-edition items made with seasonal ingredients.

Toraya's uiro is made primarily from wheat flour and sugar, and is a "fresh uiro" with no added preservatives. Its distinctive, smooth texture allows the aroma of the ingredients to shine through. Their "Kotorayaki" baby castella cakes, modeled after the uiro logo, are also popular and perfect for eating on the go or giving away.

They also have stores in Nagoya department stores and at the Kariya Highway Oasis and Kameyama Highway Oasis service areas.
