Bara Park and Midoricho Park are the two major rose gardens in Fukuyama, the "City of Roses." When the best viewing times in spring and autumn coincide with events, the whole town is enveloped in the scent of flowers, making it the perfect place for a photogenic stroll.
The Rose Park began with the planting of seedlings by local residents in 1956, and was expanded in 2024 to approximately 7,000 roses and 670 varieties. With its striped gardens and the beautiful contrast between the lawns and flowerbeds, this "urban garden" is a great place to enjoy everything from family picnics to serious flower photography.

Midoricho Park is a comprehensive park with disaster prevention functions. Its iconic pyramid-shaped flowerbed, "Rose Hill," boasts approximately 5,100 roses and 330 varieties, while the entire park boasts approximately 7,500 roses and 540 varieties. It's also popular as an educational garden, where visitors can compare varieties and fragrances. Adjacent to the Rose Arena, the park is bustling with events, featuring food stalls and music. Even outside of the flowering season, visitors can relax on the lawn, making it a valuable stroll spot year-round.

Both parks are the main venues for the Fukuyama Rose Festival held every May.
