Handmade Udon Meigen. Founded in 1976, it is the birthplace of self-service udon. With homemade noodles made from domestic wheat, sweet and spicy dashi broth, and a wide variety of tempura, it's the perfect lunch spot for tourists in Okayama.
Our tempura is made with fresh, seasonal vegetables and seafood, and is served fresh to maximize its crispy texture and flavor.

The deliciousness of our tempura is further enhanced by our rich, special dashi broth. Meigen's tempura also pairs exceptionally well with udon noodles, creating a deeper, more flavorful meal.

While there may be a line, the fast turnover makes it a convenient spot for families or those on a drive. With ample seating, this restaurant embodies the ideals of "cheap, fast, and delicious," making it a true soul food of Okayama.
