Garyuzakura, located in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, is called Garyuzakura because its branches and trunk resemble the shape of a dragon, and is estimated to be 1100 years old.
This is a large Edohigan cherry tree that is representative of Japan, with branches extending 30 meters and a height of 20 meters.

The best time to see Garyuzakura is from mid-April to late April. During this period, the Garyu Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year and is crowded with many people.
