Akiyoshido, one of the three largest limestone caves in Japan, located in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The Akiyoshido Cave is one of the three largest limestone caves in Japan, located in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The total length of the cave is 8.9 km, of which about 1 km is open for tourists to explore. It takes about one hour to walk the entire length, but the cave is spacious and has many attractions to see, with no steep uphill or downhill slopes, so visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll.

The inside of the cave is pleasantly cool during the summer and provides a refreshing break from the heat.

There is an elevator midway through the cave that takes visitors to the surface of the Akiyoshidai Plateau.
