A wooden standing statue of Eleven-faced Kannon is enshrined as the principal object of worship. The standing eleven-faced Kannon statue is a product of the Kamakura period, along with the black lacquered shrine, and has been designated as a national important cultural property.

It is also famous as a hydrangea temple, and many people visit during the flowering season.

Although it is a historic temple, you can enjoy Shojin cuisine at Yakushi-in Temple, and new initiatives such as the "Counseling Room for the Heart" and the "Yakushi-in Salon" are being implemented. I felt that this kind of approach might be the original way of a temple that is close to the times.
