Kumano Hayatama Taisha is a shrine located in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture. It is one of the major shrines that make up the Kumano Sanzan, and along with Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Nachi Taisha, it is registered as part of the World Heritage site Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range.
The main enshrined deities are Kumano Hayatama no Okami and Kumano Fusumino Okami. Kumano Hayatama Omikami is the younger brother of Amaterasu Omikami, the grandson of Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto, the oldest gods of Japan. Kumano Fusumi no Okami is the consort of Kumano Hayatama no Okami.

It is said that the temple was founded in the 58th year of Emperor Keiko (2nd year B.C.) when Kumano Gongen first descended from Mt. Kamikura and moved to its current location.

Kumano Hayatama Taisha is one of the oldest and most important shrines of the Kumano Sanzan. As the main shrine of Kumano Sanzan, many worshipers visit from all over the country.
