Otsu Service Area on the Meishin Expressway. With an observation zone overlooking Lake Biwa, gourmet Omi beef, and a wide selection of Shiga souvenirs, this is the perfect rest stop and base for sightseeing on your drive to Arima, Kyoto, or Nagoya.
Located at a strategic point on the Meishin Expressway, Otsu Service Area boasts stunning views of Lake Biwa on both inbound and outbound journeys. The terrace and glass-enclosed dining area offer views of the lake and the Hiei and Hira ridgelines, making for stunning photos in the clear morning air and the magic hour at dusk. Equipped with amenities such as free rest areas, a nursing room, a baby care room, and multi-purpose restrooms, the area offers a comfortable rest stop even during long drives.

The food court and specialty shops offer a wide selection of dishes, from Omi beef steak bowls and beef rice to Omi chicken oyakodon (champon), udon and soba noodles, and sweets.
