Ryozenji Temple in Naruto City is the first temple of the Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage Sites.

Because the scenery of Ryozenji was similar to Mt. Reiwu in India, it is said that when Kobo Daishi established the sacred grounds of Shikoku, he established the first amulet place in this area.

There are many buildings that have been designated as national important cultural properties, such as the Niomon Gate and the Tahoto Pagoda.
