Kibitsu Shrine in Fukuyama City is a historic shrine that has been worshipped by people since ancient times as the most prestigious "Ichinomiya" in Bingo Province (eastern Hiroshima Prefecture). The main deity is Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto, and it is said to have various benefits such as warding off evil, bringing good luck, and finding a partner. Of particular note is the unique architectural style "Hiyokuirimoya-zukuri" in which the main hall and worship hall are integrated. This is a rare structure that can only be seen at Kibitsu Shrine, and it is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

Kibisu Shrine has a deep relationship with Kibitsu Shrine in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, and the two shrines are considered to be counterparts. In addition, it is known as a place associated with Momotaro because it enshrines Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto, who was the model for the Momotaro legend.
