Mitatani Temple is a historic temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located to the northwest of Hiroshima City. It was founded by Kobo Daishi in 809 AD.
Located in Nishi-ku, Hiroshima, a little way from the city center, Mitaki-dera is a beautiful temple with three waterfalls, Yumei-no-taki, Bon-on-no-taki, and Komaga-taki, flowing down its name. The fresh green leaves in spring and the fiery red leaves in autumn are particularly beautiful, and it is a place loved by Hiroshima residents where you can feel the beauty of nature in each season. It is a historic temple said to have been founded by Kukai (Kobo Daishi), and the grounds are dotted with a pagoda designated as an Important Cultural Property and a main hall with a solemn atmosphere.

Along the approach to the temple, there are waterfalls and countless stone Buddhas, making it a hidden power spot where you can feel the power of silence.

It is the perfect place for those who want to refresh their mind and body, or those who want to meditate quietly in nature.
