Mount Ohira boasts an elevation of 631m, and its greatest attraction is the magnificent panoramic view from its summit, which overlooks not only Hofu city, but also the sparkling beauty of the Seto Inland Sea and the distant Shikoku Islands. On particularly clear days, the contrast between the blue sky and the sea is vivid, creating a breathtaking view. At night, the sparkling night view of Hofu city spreads out below you, creating a romantic atmosphere. It is also a popular driving course, and you can easily visit the summit by car.

The observation deck cannot be accessed from the second and third floors due to aging.

There used to be a ropeway, but it has now been discontinued.

The entire summit area has been developed as "Mount Ohira Summit Park," and in addition to the observation deck, there is a grassy plaza and a rest area. In spring, there is an azalea garden where about 100,000 azaleas bloom, and their magnificent colors attract visitors. There are also small playground equipment in the park, so you can enjoy it with children. It is a place where you can enjoy impressive scenery while refreshing yourself in nature.

There is a parking lot near the top of the mountain, and it is a flat road about a 5-minute walk away.

It is popular as a date spot for young couples to see the beautiful night view at night, but you need to be careful as there are some people with bad manners.

Since 2022, nighttime parking was temporarily suspended due to a series of bad manners, but the restrictions were lifted from May 2025, and there is currently no time limit on parking. (Available 24 hours a day) We do not know what will happen in the future, so we ask for your attention, but please be mindful of your manners when visiting.
