This uninhabited island, located off the coast of Tomonoura in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is an unspoiled, natural setting. The five-colored rocks and unusual coastline offer a soothing experience for the body and mind.
Sensuijima is an uninhabited island that is so beautiful that it makes even hermits drunk. It is easily accessible, just a five-minute ferry ride from Tomonoura on the opposite shore, and is known as a power spot with untouched nature. The entire island is designated as a national park, and you can enjoy the dynamic coastline with its strange rocks and giant boulders, as well as the beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea, while strolling along the approximately six-kilometer promenade.

The greatest attraction of Sensuijima is the "five-colored rocks," which are said to be rare even in the world. The rock surface, which shines in five colors, red, blue, yellow, white, and black, is a mysterious sight that makes you feel the energy of the earth.

Sensuijima and Bentenjima are far apart, so you cannot walk across.
The boat ride takes about five minutes and the fare is cheap, so it's a good idea to take a leisurely stroll across as if you were on a cruise.
There is a promenade along the cliffs, so you can take a leisurely stroll. There is no shade, so you will be sweating in the hot summer. It may be best to visit in the evening.

[Hidden gem]
On the island, there is a cave steam bath called "Edo Bath" that makes use of the blessings of nature. This is a facility where you can enjoy unique bathing experiences, such as a salt bath made from heated natural seawater, a steam bath in a cave, and an open-air bath with a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. It is ideal for a stay aimed at detoxing and refreshing, and promotes purification of the mind and body.
Although it is a mixed-gender bath, couples are also welcome as they must wear special clothing when bathing.
