Mount Misen is a sacred mountain that stands at 535m above sea level in the center of Miyajima. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Itsukushima Shrine, and is a mysterious place with untouched nature, the Misen virgin forest, and strange rocks and stones scattered around. It has been an object of worship since ancient times, and the historical site that is said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai is also a highlight. There is an observation deck at the top of the mountain, and on a clear day you can enjoy a 360-degree spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea's many islands and the Shikoku Mountains.

From the top of the mountain you can see the Seto Inland Sea, and there are many monkeys.

There are sights to see along the way, such as the strangely shaped giant rock "Kuguriiwa".

There are hiking trails such as the "Momijidani Course" and the "Daishoin Course", and it takes about an hour and a half to climb the mountain. You can take the ropeway to the top and walk down.

A free shuttle bus runs from Miyajima Pier to Momijidani Station (it's about a 20-minute walk).
