Spread across the hills of Higashi Ward, Okayama City, International Pacific University (IPU) has been a campus symbolized by Tadao Ando's architectural designs since its founding. The Athletes' Hall "TOPGUN" on the first campus was designed as a grand gate leading to the Clock Tower building, welcoming visitors as the "face" of the campus. Its minimalist exposed concrete form and details emphasizing straight lines and the capture of light exude a sense of tension characteristic of Ando's work. Several of Ando's works are scattered throughout the campus, including the "PHILOSOPHIA" school building and the "HARMONY" cafe terrace.

The basic rule for visits is to view the exterior only. Due to consideration for classes and student activities, both official university and tourist agencies do not open the interior to the public. From the perimeter road or campus traffic flow, you can observe the relationship between the hall's mass and the landscape through the gate.

As this is a university campus, you cannot enter the campus without permission. However, you can take some photos on the premises with permission from the security guard at the entrance.
