An ancient shrine associated with Emperor Jimmu, who appears in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. Located in Fuchu Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, it is popular as a power spot where you can feel history and mystery. It is one of the three major shrines in Aki Province, along with Itsukushima Shrine and Hayatani Shrine.
Taya Shrine is a historic shrine located in Fuchu-cho, Aki-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is believed to be the "Enomiya" or "Takerinomiya" where Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan, stayed during his eastern expedition, and its name is recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. Therefore, it is a particularly recommended place for those interested in Japanese history and mythology.

The grounds are surrounded by a sacred atmosphere, giving visitors peace of mind. In particular, the "Treasure House" (an important cultural property of Hiroshima Prefecture), which is said to be the only surviving Azekura-style building in Japan, is a must-see. This treasure house is also known for its similar structure to the "Tobigura" depicted in the Heian period picture scroll "Shigisan Engi Emaki," and its historical value is immeasurable.

Taya Shrine, whose main deity is Emperor Jimmu, has long been affectionately known to local people as "Enomiya-san." It is counted as one of the three major shrines in Aki Province, along with Itsukushima Shrine and Hayatani Shrine, and its name is also recorded in the Engishiki, a legal code from the Heian period.
