Fukura Roadside Station on Awaji Island is the closest roadside station to the whirlpools of the Naruto Strait. It is a base for viewing Awaji Puppet Theatre and taking a whirlpool cruise, allowing you to fully enjoy the culture and nature of Awaji Island.
Located at Fukura Port, facing the Naruto Strait, on the southern tip of Awaji Island, this roadside station is a very popular base for whirlpool tourism. Inside the facility, there is a direct sales store with a wide selection of Awaji Island's seafood and mountain produce, including fresh Naruto sea bream grown in the Naruto whirlpools, Awaji Island onions, and fresh locally grown vegetables. In particular, Awaji Island brand seafood and processed products are very popular souvenirs.

At the restaurant, you can enjoy Awaji Island's unique gourmet food, such as seafood bowls made with fresh seafood and dishes made with Awaji Island beef. You can enjoy your meal while looking out at the idyllic scenery of Fukura Port from the window.

The biggest attraction of this roadside station is that it is also home to a boarding point for whirlpool cruises. Directly from the roadside station, you can board the sightseeing boat "Kanrin Maru," modeled after the sailing ship "Nippon Maru," or the high-speed observation boat "Uzushio," and experience the powerful Naruto whirlpools, one of the world's three largest tidal currents, up close.

A five-minute drive away is the popular day-trip hot spring "Minami Awaji Refresh Exchange House Yupuru."

[Hidden gem]
Near the neighboring "Naruto Whirlpool Cruise Boarding Point" is the foot bath "Uzu no Yu." You can easily stop by after sightseeing at the whirlpools or as a break from driving to soothe your travel fatigue. In addition, the area around Fukura Port still has the atmosphere of a traditional fishing town, and is fun to stroll around.
