Izumo Daijingu Shrine in Kameoka City is a power spot known as the Ichinomiya of Tanba Province. It is famous for its blessings of matchmaking and healing, and is a shrine with a mystical atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature.
Izumo Daijingu is a historic shrine located in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, and has long been worshipped as the Ichinomiya, the highest-ranking shrine in Tanba Province (present-day central Kyoto Prefecture and eastern Hyogo Prefecture). It is said to have been founded very long ago, in 709. The main deities are Okuninushi no Mikoto and Mihotsuhime no Mikoto, and they are particularly famous as gods of matchmaking, recovery from illness, and prosperity. It is also known as the original shrine of all Izumo Daijingu shrines across the country, and is such a historic shrine that it is also called "Motoizumo." The grounds are spacious and enveloped in a solemn atmosphere, giving visitors a sense of quiet peace. The main hall has been designated a national cultural asset.

Within the grounds, there is a spring called "Manai no Mizu," which has long been believed to be a sacred water, and it is famous as a power spot. The water from Manai in particular is said to grant blessings of longevity and recovery from illness, and many worshippers come to draw water.

[Hidden gem]
The water from Manai in the temple grounds is a sacred spring that springs from the mountain behind the temple grounds. It can be used at the temizuya (purification fountain), and there is also a tap for taking water home.
