It enshrines Omi no Takamikoto as the main enshrined deity. Omitaka no Mikoto is a deity that appears in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, and is considered to be the god of land, the god of industry, and the god of traffic safety.

Toshika Shrine is located in the northern part of Aichi Prefecture, on a hilly area facing Mikawa Bay.
