Abuto Kannon is a famous seaside temple in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is officially called Bandai-dera Kannon Hall. It features a beautiful vermilion-painted hall built on a cliff, and has long been a sacred place of worship for prayers for safe childbirth.
This famous temple has an impressive vermilion-painted Kannon Hall on a cliff overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. It was founded in the Heian period, and the current building was rebuilt by order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The view from the Kannon Hall is wonderful, and it is also popular as a scenic spot where you can see the serene scenery of the Seto Inland Sea.

It is particularly known as a sacred place for praying for safe childbirth, and many worshippers come to visit. Inside the Kannon Hall, many "breast-shaped" votive plaques that were donated by people who came to pray for safe childbirth are hung, giving a sense of the unique religious culture.

The approach to the Kannon Hall is also elegant, and you can enjoy a stroll while taking in the nature and history of the Seto Inland Sea. It has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and is widely loved not only as a tourist destination but also as a place of worship.
