Tegarayama Central Park is a vast urban park that was once developed as the site of the Himeji Grand Exposition. The park is home to a number of cultural and educational facilities, including the Peace Museum, Himeji City Aquarium, and Tegarayama Conservatory Botanical Garden, as well as the Pacific War National Wartime City Air Raid Victims Memorial Tower. In particular, at the Tegarayama Exchange Station, a renovated former Himeji Monorail Tegarayama Station building, an actual monorail train is on display, giving the place a nostalgic, retro feel.
Tegarayama Central Park is also home to the Himeji City Aquarium and a revolving observation cafe.

There is a fee to enter the botanical garden. There are two greenhouses, one large and one small, and many rare and unusual tropical and subtropical ornamental plants.
