A popular contemporary art museum located near Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle.
The building was designed by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, and features a simple structure of glass and steel. The building is divided into three areas: the Collection Exhibition Zone, the Special Exhibition Zone, and the Exchange Zone.
The Collection Exhibition Zone exhibits a wide range of collections, from works by modern art masters to works by up-and-coming artists. The Special Exhibition Zone hosts special exhibitions introducing contemporary art from Japan and abroad. The Exchange Zone hosts a variety of cultural activities, including workshops and lectures.
Interactive installations such as the representative work "Swimming Pool" are also popular.
The Exchange Zone is equipped with the cafe restaurant Fusion21, a museum shop, and an art library. A variety of programs, including workshops and lectures, are held every day, making it popular with families and students.
