Enoshima Sea Candle Observation Lighthouse is Japan's first privately owned lighthouse, located on Enoshima Island in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is the symbol of Enoshima. It is a scenic spot where you can get a panoramic view of the Shonan Sea and Mt. Fuji. The romantic night view is also attractive.
Enoshima Sea Candle Observation Lighthouse is a landmark of the Shonan area, towering over the top of Enoshima. From the observation deck about 60 meters above ground, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, and on a clear day, you can see Sagami Bay, the Izu Peninsula, the Hakone mountains, and even the majestic Mt. Fuji. Especially at dusk, the contrast between the crimson sky and the sea is beautiful and an impressive view.

At night, the entire lighthouse is lit up, and its fantastic glow creates a romantic atmosphere. In winter, it becomes the venue for the illumination event "Jewel of Shonan", transforming it into an even more shining space, making it an extremely popular date spot. There are indoor and outdoor observation decks, so you can enjoy the view in an open atmosphere while feeling the sea breeze.

Around the lighthouse, Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden spreads out, and you can enjoy flowers of all seasons. There is also a cafe and shop on-site, so it's a great place to take a break and pick out souvenirs while enjoying the view.

[Hidden gem]
The view from the observation deck of Sea Candle is of course amazing, but LONCAFE, located inside Samuel Cocking Garden, is famous as Japan's first French toast specialty shop. From the terrace seats, you can see both Sea Candle and the Shonan sea at the same time, and you can enjoy the view at your leisure in a stylish atmosphere. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend going on a weekday morning.
