Shasui Falls is a famous waterfall that has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan. It is a power spot where you can experience the pure water and the mystical atmosphere of the waterfall basin in the midst of magnificent nature.
Shasui Falls is a waterfall on the Takizawa River, a tributary of the Sakawa River that flows through Yamakita Town, Ashigarakami District, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a famous waterfall that represents Kanagawa Prefecture and has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan. In particular, the three tiers of waterfalls, 69 meters above, 16 meters in the middle, and 29 meters below, are particularly spectacular, with a total drop of about 114 meters. The clear water sliding down the rocks is truly a work of art woven by nature.

It has long been known as a place for training in Shugendo, and waterfall ascetic practices are still performed there today. It is also known as the place where Monkaku Shonin trained during the Kamakura period.

The area around the waterfall basin is surrounded by cool air and negative ions, making it a popular power spot where you can refresh both body and mind. Its beauty is particularly striking during the season of new green leaves, the rainy season when the water volume increases, and the autumn leaves in autumn.

The promenade leading to the falls is surrounded by rich nature, allowing you to enjoy a walk while enjoying forest bathing. Listening to the sound of the waterfall and breathing in the clear air will help you relieve your daily fatigue. This is a recommended place for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and experience the grandeur of nature.
