It is the highest free-standing mountain in Japan, with an elevation of 3,776m. It is also registered as a World Heritage Site, and its majestic appearance attracts many people as a beautiful landscape that symbolizes Japan.
Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan, boasting an elevation of 3,776 meters. Its graceful conical shape is widely known both in Japan and abroad as a symbol of Japan. In 2013, it was registered as a World Heritage Site as "Mount Fuji - an object of worship and a source of artistic inspiration". It straddles Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures, and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery such as the Fuji Five Lakes and Shiraito Falls.

During the climbing season (usually from early July to early September), many climbers aim to reach the summit. There are climbing routes that even beginners can challenge, and many people climb at night to see the sunrise. From the summit, you can experience the magnificent view of the sea of ​​clouds and the sunrise, which will be an unforgettable memory. Even if you find it difficult to climb, you can access the fifth station by bus or car and experience the majesty of Mount Fuji up close.

[About climbing]
The climbing season is open from July 10th to September 10th. It gets very crowded on weekends and holidays.
There are four routes to climb. Each has its own characteristics, such as the climbing time.
You can drive up to the 5th station, but there are restrictions on private cars on all routes except the Gotemba route. However, the Gotemba route is a long distance.
The 5th station is about 1,440m above sea level.

[Useful points of concern]
If you are not staying at a mountain hut, entry to the mountain is restricted from 14:00 to 27:00 (3:00 am the next day). 

[Private car restrictions]
There are no private car restrictions at the Gotemba entrance. (Please check as this may change)
On the Fuji Subaru Line (Yoshida route), private car restrictions are in place from mid-July to early September. 
The restriction period varies depending on the route and the year, so please check in advance.
