The pine trees on the eastern side of the Miho Peninsula with Mount Fuji in the background are a beautiful sight, and it has been the subject of many historical works of art. It is also an element of Mount Fuji's World Heritage Site, and is a scenic spot where the legend of Hagoromo comes to life.
Miho no Matsubara is a coastline located in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, that is attractive for its beautiful pine forest and majestic scenery. In particular, the view of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay beyond the 30,000 pine trees that stretch for about 7 kilometers is so picturesque that it is counted as one of the New Three Most Scenic Views of Japan. In 2013, it was registered as a World Heritage Site as a component asset of "Mt. Fuji - Object of Sacred Worship and Source of Artistic Inspiration."

Here, there is the "Hagoromo Pine," where the legend of a heavenly maiden descended and hung her feather robe, and its mysterious atmosphere attracts many people. You can feel the majesty of nature and the romance of history while strolling through the pine forest or going out to the beach and walking along the shore. In particular, in the early morning of winter when the air is clear, Mt. Fuji covered in snow looks even more beautiful, and an impressive sight unfolds.

In the vicinity of the pine bara, there is the Shizuoka City Miho no Matsubara Cultural Creation Center "Miho Shirube", where you can learn about the history, culture, and nature of Miho no Matsubara. There are also cafes and souvenir shops scattered around, so you can take a break while enjoying the scenery or looking for a souvenir.

[Concerns]
Depending on the weather, you may not be able to see Mt. Fuji. It is especially difficult to see on cloudy or rainy days, and in the afternoons during summer. Early mornings in winter when the air is clear are the most likely times to see Mt. Fuji clearly.
