With the majestic Mount Fuji in the background, this popular spot offers an amazing experience touring a vast area where animals such as lions, elephants, and giraffes live.
Fuji Safari Park is one of the largest safari-style zoos in Japan, located in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In the vast grounds, 1,200 animals from all over the world, including lions, tigers, elephants, and giraffes, live in conditions close to nature, and visitors can observe the ecology of the animals up close by in their own cars or on a special jungle bus. In particular, the Safari Zone, where animals roam freely, gives you a sense of realism as if you were in the African savanna.

In addition to the Safari Zone, there are various areas such as the "Interaction Zone" where you can interact with animals and the "Walking Safari" where you can observe animals on foot. Interacting with cute small animals and feeding experiences are very popular with family trips with children. Night safaris are also held, providing a rare opportunity to observe animals at night, which is different from the daytime.

The majestic location with Mt. Fuji in the background is also one of the attractions, and you can enjoy meeting animals in the beautiful nature of the four seasons. It is a tourist facility that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages, from children to adults, as it is highly educational and you can learn about the ecology and conservation of animals.

[Trivia]
Fuji Safari Park exhibits the "Swimming Elephants" only during the summer. It is a rare experience to observe Asian elephants weighing over 3 tons swimming in the water through transparent acrylic glass.

[Hidden Spots]
It is nice to go around the Safari Zone in your own car, but if you want to get closer to the animals, we recommend the "Jungle Bus" where you can experience feeding the animals through a wire mesh, or the "Walking Safari" where you can observe the animals on foot. The walking safari in particular is a hidden spot that only those in the know know about, where you can carefully observe animals that you don't usually see. The park also has an "Animal Village" and a "Petting Farm" where you can enjoy interacting with alpacas, kangaroos, meerkats, and more.
