Sekinoo Falls is a majestic waterfall located in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and was selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan. It is about 40 meters wide and 18 meters high, and its dynamic water flow is very impressive. The sound of the water flowing into the basin echoes throughout the area, and the space filled with negative ions gives visitors a sense of healing and excitement. The waterfall's power is especially strong when there is a lot of water after rain. The area around the waterfall has been developed as a park, and you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall from various angles while walking along the promenade.

The biggest feature of Sekinoo Falls is the world's largest group of "potholes" that spread out just upstream from the basin. Potholes are holes that are created when stones at the bottom of the river rotate due to the eddy current of the water, carving out a circular shape from the bedrock. The potholes at Sekinoo Falls have been designated as a national natural monument due to their size and beauty. The wide area is dotted with potholes of all sizes, from a few meters in diameter to a few centimeters, and they look like works of art created by nature. This unique landscape is one of the attractions of Sekinoo Falls, and cannot be found anywhere else.

The suspension bridge connecting the waterfall and the potholes allows you to see both at once, making it a popular photo spot. In addition, the surrounding area also offers somen nagashi (summer only), which uses the pure water, and shops selling local specialties, making it a spot where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and the local food culture at the same time.
