Located deep in the Kikuchi Valley, Shijusanman Falls is a group of waterfalls with a height of about 20 to 25 meters, with large and small water flows sliding down the rock face over a wide area. The name comes from the fact that it received 430,000 votes in a scenic spot poll sponsored by the Kyushu Nichi Nichi Shimbun, and it has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan. Visitors are greeted by the clear sound of the water pouring into the pool and the high transparency unique to Aso's underground water.

In spring, the area is bustling with families seeking fresh greenery, and in summer, the coolness that is also known as a natural cooler, and in autumn, the maples and maples create a contrast with the surface of the waterfall. In winter, snowfall turns the world into a silver world, and the fantastic scenery covered with icicles is worth seeing. Small pools and secondary waterfalls are dotted along the promenade, making it a great place for a stroll.

Shijusanman Falls is a part of the main walking course in the Kikuchi Valley, and many tourists visit it.
