It is the home stadium of the Hanshin Tigers and is also the dream stage for high school baseball players, with the All Japan High School Baseball Championship (Summer Koshien) and the Selected High School Baseball Tournament (Spring Koshien).
Hanshin Koshien Stadium is a stadium located in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, widely known as the mecca of Japanese baseball. It is loved by many people as the venue for the spring and summer National High School Baseball Championships, and as the home stadium of the professional baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers. The name "Koshien" goes beyond the name of the stadium, becoming a symbol of youth, dreams, and enthusiasm. Its unique atmosphere and history make it a place that even non-baseball fans should visit at least once.
The stadium's features include ivy covering the outfield, a natural grass field that is rare in professional baseball, and a dirt field that is famous for the sand being taken home. During the high school baseball season, baseball players from all over the country play heated games, and many people are moved by their dedication. Meanwhile, during the professional baseball season, enthusiastic Hanshin Tigers fans fill the stands and support the players with their unique cheering style. The sight of jet balloons flying is known as a Koshien specialty.
The stadium also houses the Koshien History Museum, where you can learn about the history of baseball, and displays valuable documents about high school baseball and the Hanshin Tigers, as well as player uniforms. Ground tours are also held, allowing you to experience the stadium from places that are normally off-limits.
