The Sagawa Art Museum is an art museum located in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture, that houses works mainly by Japanese painter Ikuo Hirayama and sculptor Churyo Sato.
Sagawa Art Museum is located in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture, and opened as a project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Sagawa Express. The building is surrounded by a water basin on a vast site, and its sophisticated architectural beauty is a major feature. It consists of three exhibition rooms: the Hirayama Ikuo Museum, which exhibits works by Japan's leading painter Hirayama Ikuo; the Sato Churyo Museum, which exhibits sculptures by sculptor Sato Churyo; and the Raku Kichizaemon Museum, which exhibits ceramic works by Raku Kichizaemon. You can view art in a variety of genres.

The Sagawa Art Museum's collection includes a number of representative works of Japanese modern and contemporary art, including Hirayama Ikuo's masterpieces "Mural of Afghanistan" and "Mural of Palestine," as well as Sato Churyo's masterpieces "Parent and Child Statue" and "Statue of Love."

The greatest attraction of the museum is the harmony between its architecture and nature. The surrounding water basin shows different expressions depending on the season and weather, and the building's reflection on the water's surface captivates visitors. Inside the museum, the space also skillfully uses light and shadow to highlight the beautiful works of art. In particular, the Raku Kichizaemonkan has a teahouse set below the water's surface, where you can experience a fantastical atmosphere as if you were underwater.

The Sagawa Art Museum is a unique place where you can enjoy not only the art pieces but also the architecture itself. The museum also has a cafe and museum shop, where you can spend your time relaxing.
