It is considered one of the three great waterfalls of Oku-Nikko, along with Kegon Falls and Ryuzu Falls.

Yutaki Falls was formed when the water from Lake Yunoko dammed the Yukawa River. The Yukawa River is a river that flows out of Lake Yunoko, which was formed when the lava flow from Mt. Nantai dammed it. Yutaki Falls is characterized by the fact that the water from Lake Yunoko splits into two as it flows down the rock walls of the Mitake lava flow.

Yutaki Falls is an impressive waterfall, with a large drop and abundant water volume. From the observation deck at the base of the waterfall, you can get a close-up look at the powerful waterfall from directly below. The view from above the waterfall is also beautiful, and the waterfall reflected on the lake surface is truly spectacular.

Rich nature spreads around this waterfall. Lake Yunoko, located just upstream of Yutaki Falls, is a quiet and beautiful lake that is crowded with people who enjoy fishing and boating. There is also a promenade leading from Yutaki to Senjogahara where you can enjoy hiking. It is especially popular with hikers in the spring when the new greenery is dazzling, in the summer when it is refreshing, and in the fall when the leaves change color beautifully.
