Located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, this is Japan's first department store. It is a long-established store known for its magnificent Renaissance-style architecture, high-quality product lineup, and hospitality.
Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store is located in Nihonbashi Muromachi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, and is a long-established department store that built the history of department stores in Japan. It was founded in 1673 (the first year of the Enpo era) as a kimono store called "Echigoya", and in 1904 (the 37th year of the Meiji era), it declared itself a "department store" and became Japan's first department store. The current main building features magnificent Renaissance-style architecture and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Its stately exterior and the luxurious space that spreads out the moment you step inside the store captivate visitors.

The greatest appeal of this department store is its product lineup backed by its history and tradition, and its attentive service. It has a wide range of the highest quality products, from fashion items from famous domestic and international brands to jewelry, art, and traditional Japanese crafts. In particular, the food floor on the basement floor, known as "depachika," is packed with long-established Japanese and Western sweets, prepared foods, and rare ingredients from around the world. Just browsing is fun and will tickle your foodie curiosity.

Around Mitsukoshi, there are many local antenna shops, such as the dashi specialty store "Kayanoya Coredo Muromachi Nihonbashi Store," "Mie Terrace," "Nara Mahoroba-kan," and "Nihonbashi Shimane-kan."

Nihonbashi, where the Shuto Expressway is expected to be moved underground, and the Bank of Japan Head Office are also located.

There are many subway stations, but it is also about a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Station.
