Located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, this is a power spot with over 1,400 years of history. Its mystical approach surrounded by oddly shaped rocks and bizarre stones, and its majestic shrine building are its attractions.
Haruna Shrine is an ancient shrine located at the foot of Mount Haruna in Harunayama-cho, Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. It was founded in 586 and is said to have a history of over 1,400 years. It has long been a sacred place for Shugendo in the Kanto region, and has attracted believers for its various benefits, such as good luck, bountiful harvests, prosperous business, and matchmaking.
The main deities enshrined are the fire god, Hisanrei-no-kami, and the earth god, Haniyamahime-no-kami. Other deities enshrined at the shrine include Mizubun-no-kami, Takatsuru-no-kami, Yamitu-no-kami, Oyamatsumi-no-kami, Omononushi-no-kami, and Konohanasakuya-hime-no-kami.

The approach to the shrine, surrounded by strange rocks and bizarre stones, has attracted attention in recent years as a power spot due to its mysterious atmosphere, and many worshippers visit the shrine.

The greatest attraction of this shrine is its unique scenery and the arrangement of the shrine building, which is integrated with nature. As you walk along the approach to the shrine, you will come across the huge protruding rock known as the Misugataiiwa, as well as other strangely shaped rocks, giving you the feeling that you have wandered into another world. The main shrine is built inside the cave of the Misugataiiwa, and its solemn atmosphere overwhelms visitors. It has also been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and you can experience a mysterious space woven together by history and nature.

In addition to simply visiting Haruna Shrine, it is also recommended to take a leisurely stroll through the surrounding nature. In the season of fresh greenery, the green is full of vitality, and in autumn, the fiery red leaves color the valley, allowing you to enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons.

Furthermore, there are tourist spots such as Lake Haruna on the way to the top of Mt. Haruna.

[Useful points of concern]
The approach to the shrine has many stone steps and slopes, and some places are slippery, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Be especially careful in winter, as there is a risk of snow accumulation and freezing of the road surface. There is a parking lot, but please be aware that it can get crowded, especially during the autumn foliage season and on weekends.
