Kurushima Kaikyo Observatory and Itoyama Observatory are located at the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido on the Ehime side, and are great viewing spots where you can get a close-up view of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge, the world's first triple suspension bridge. The observation deck has an exhibition room where you can learn about the structure of the bridge and the history of its construction, and from the observation deck you can enjoy a moving panoramic view of the swirling currents below and the beautiful islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea. It is an essential stopover spot for people cycling along the Shimanami Kaido and tourists enjoying a drive.
