Metasequoia Namiki in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture is one of Shiga Prefecture's representative sightseeing spots. About 500 Metasequoia trees with a height of about 30 meters form a beautiful landscape that looks like a scene from a movie.

Metasequoia Namiki began in 1981 as an approach road to the Makino Highlands, which was planted by Agricultural Park Makino Pick Land. After that, the prefectural road Koaraji Makinozawa Line was also planted in cooperation, and the extension was extended, resulting in this magnificent appearance today.

Metasequoia trees can be enjoyed in every season, with fresh greenery in spring, dark greenery in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and bare trees in winter. The autumn foliage is especially famous, and every year from late November to early December, the metasequoias turn golden, creating a fantastic scenery.
