The "Tetsujin 28-go Monument," located in Wakamatsu Park south of JR Shin-Nagata Station in Nagata Ward, Kobe City, is a massive monument to manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama's masterpiece, "Tetsujin 28-go." It was built primarily by the local shopping district in hopes of recovery from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Standing approximately 18 meters tall and weighing 50 tons, the massive Tetsujin 28-go impresses visitors with its imposing presence, as if it could move at any moment.

The monument continues to watch over the city of Kobe as a symbol of recovery from the disaster. The pedestal at the base of Tetsujin 28-go is inscribed with a message from Mitsuteru Yokoyama and details the progress of recovery since the disaster, further deepening the monument's meaning. It is also lit up at night, creating a fantastical sight that is different from its daytime counterpart.
