Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Aino Tsuchiyama Roadside Station is a new roadside station that recently reopened on August 1, 2025. The building was designed by Kengo Kuma, known for designing the New National Stadium, and features a warm yet modern design that makes extensive use of wood. The entire building harmonizes with the local mountain ranges and blends seamlessly into Koka's abundant natural beauty. A large, covered plaza has been newly constructed, making it comfortable even on rainy days, and it is a multi-purpose space that can be used for a variety of purposes, including events and markets.

The facility also features a retail corner offering a wide selection of local Koka specialties, as well as a variety of dining options. New additions include Okowaya Ikuno, which serves plumply cooked Koka glutinous rice; Tsuchiyama Sabo, which serves sweets made with Tsuchiyama tea; and Mame no Ya, a specialty shop for bean daifuku (sweet bean daifuku). The on-site restaurant serves dishes made with local ingredients, making it the perfect place for lunch or a break.

As part of the renovation, a new dog run was also built where you can play with your beloved dog. The area has been renovated to create a relaxing space for families, making it an even more attractive spot not only for drivers, but also for tourists and locals.
