Kusatsu City Aquatic Plant Garden Mizunomori is a unique botanical garden with a theme of aquatic plants, located on the Karasuma Peninsula jutting out into Lake Biwa. Taking advantage of the rich aquatic environment of Lake Biwa, a wide variety of plants are cultivated and exhibited.

The biggest attractions of the garden are the collection of water lilies, said to be the largest in Japan, and the lotus flowers, which are in full bloom in the summer. You can observe the beautiful blooming in the ponds and gardens up close. In the glass-walled greenhouse in the Lotus Hall, you can enjoy rare tropical aquatic plants and water lilies that are available all year round.

There is also a spacious lawn and a promenade, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll in nature. The Lake Biwa Museum is also adjacent, so it is recommended to visit both. It is a healing space where you can enjoy flowers of all seasons.
