A popular aquarium on Noto Island. The only whale shark exhibit on the Sea of Japan side and a dolphin tunnel offer a realistic experience. Fully restored in 2025, it's perfect for family trips and sightseeing on rainy days.
Notojima Aquarium is an interactive aquarium on Noto Island, home to approximately 500 species and 40,000 animals. Its flagship attraction, the Whale Shark Pool: Blue World, is a massive 1,600-ton tank. Visitors can enjoy the leisurely swimming of these creatures through a large acrylic display at the bottom. The aquarium offers a variety of exhibits, including a 22-meter-long tunnel tank where dolphins swim overhead, jellyfish light displays, and up-close observations of penguins and seals.
Dolphin and Sea Lion Show: Watch dolphins and sea lions put on spectacular performances. The popular Penguin Walk, where penguins roam freely around the aquarium, is also popular. In the summer, visitors can interact with dolphins at the "Interaction Beach" for an additional fee.
