Located at the tip of a peninsula overlooking Hakata Bay, this aquarium has a theme of the "Sea of Kyushu." You can enjoy a huge 1,400-ton tank, dolphin and sea lion shows, and even summer night events all day long.
The aquarium is divided into sections based on ocean area, such as "Kyushu's Open Ocean," "Kyushu's Deep Sea," and "Monster Island." The 7m-deep, 1,400-ton Open Ocean Tank offers a dynamic seascape of schools of sardines swimming alongside sharks and rays, ensuring photographers' satisfaction. The 20,000-animal schooling show is a popular attraction, allowing visitors to experience the "light in the sea."

The dolphin and sea lion performances and zookeeper commentary are educational and exciting experiences for both children and adults. In the summer, the "Night Aquarium" is held, where visitors can enjoy nocturnal ecology, a sardine show with sound and light, and jumping against the backdrop of the night view in the dimly lit aquarium. The restaurant also offers views of the underwater scenery in the show pool, making even a break an extraordinary experience.
